PURCHASING SPECIALIST/BUYER

As a purchasing specialist/buyer at Rockland, you are responsible to tactical buying of direct material and parts in accordance with established quality, on-time delivery, and lead-time objectives. You will closely monitor and adjust safety stocks, minimum order quantities and delivery increments in support of corporate inventory turn objectives and maintain strong vendor relationships in order to ensure adherence to contractual commitments in alignment with schedule requirements.

Qualified candidates have excellent analytical and communication skills, 5 or more years of related experience in procurement and negotiating purchasing agreements; a demonstrated proficiency with desktop computer tools, e.g., Microsoft Office and ERP, and the ability to perform basic database management tasks and prepare customized reports, as required. Experience implementing "Just in Time" inventory management is a definite plus.
